Q&A
Do my lessons have an expiration date?
Taking lessons is a commitment.
In order to keep regularity in the learning process, lessons have an expiration date.
For example, if you have a subscription of 4 lessons/month, you must complete your 4 lessons within 30 days of the invoice date. After 30 days these lessons will be lost.
The same applies to lesson packs, you must complete your lessons within 150 days of the invoice date.
However, some exceptions may apply in cases of illness or force majeure. For further information, please consult our General Terms and Conditions.
Can I change the date and time of one of my lesson?
Yes, you can send me an e-mail up to 12 hours before the start of the lesson.
If you have a class at 5pm and you send me an e-mail at 2pm, it will be too late and the lesson cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
However, some exceptions may apply in cases of illness or force majeure. For further information, please consult our General Terms and Conditions.
Do I have to do 1 lesson a week only?
You don’t always have to do the same number of lessons per week.
You can do between 0 and 4 lessons maximum per week.
For example, you have a subsciption of 4 lessons/month, if you’re taking a week’s vacation one month (and you don’t want to take French lessons), over 4 weeks you can do it this way:
1st week : 1 lesson
2nd week : 2 lessons
3rd week : 0 lesson
4th week : 1 lesson
To recap, you just need to respect the lessons expiry date, not exceed 4 lessons per week and you must notify me 12 hours before a lesson if you need to reschedule.
Can I make changes to my subscription or change plan?
Yes, you can switch from a subscription to a lesson pack and vice versa.
Just let me know by e-mail so that we can discuss it together.
Can I claim a refund?
You may cancel your order within 14 days of placing it, unless a first lesson has already been given within these 14 days.
After that, all lessons, subscriptions or packs are non-refundable.
What my students say
Victor is a great, organised tutor
Victor is a great, organised tutor. He is incredibly patient and responsive to questions I ask. He has also tailored lessons to specific things I want to learn and speak about, eg. culture, history, as well as the fundamentals of French, which I appreciate as this requires extra effort. As a result, the lessons are really engaging and interesting, and I think I have advanced a lot as a beginner in the short time I’ve been learning. Victor has been both really encouraging and relaxed throughout my lessons, which I think is really important to building my confidence in speaking French. I would 100% recommend Victor as a tutor.
I have been leaning French with Victor for about 6 months
I have been leaning French with Victor for about 6 months. I currently have 1 lesson per week as well spending about 2-4 hours per week doing further French studies or the homework Victor sets.
Prior to studying with Victor I had learned French in school (approx. 22 years ago) but I have also lived in France for about 4 years since then. I did try to speak as much French as possible but I worked in a predominantly English speaking setting so I did not learn as much as I should have done.
I would love to live in France again one day and this was my main motivator to take up lessons whilst currently living in England.
I have had 2 French tutors before Victor, one for about 3 months and another for a couple of taster sessions however, the reason I have chosen to study with Victor is that he is very patient and makes you feel quite comfortable when you are trying to speak in French. This makes him very easy to talk to so naturally we do end up discussing a variety of topics in French which only serves to improve my ability to have a more detailed conversation rather than defaulting to the normal pleasantries.
He has a very organised teaching approach and has some excellent teaching materials to help explain different topics. It is clear he has put a lot of time and effort into providing materials for his students. I am a very logical person and I like to see/read as much explanation or materials/flash cards on different topics to help my understanding.
Also Victor has excellent English skills and does not mind questions being asked in English and will happily explain something in English if you are struggling. »
Victor edit : This student passed his DELF A2 exam in February 2024! Félicitations !
I have been taking classes with Victor for almost a year now
I have been taking classes with Victor for almost a year now, two times per week. Previously to my individual classes I studied with Alliance Francais de Londres and completed A1&A2 levels with them. Unfortunately despite completing A1&A2 I was not confident with some of the basics.
When I began with Victor we discussed my learning objectives and my styles and Victor started to build a lesson plan. As our sessions progressed Victor adapted his lessons and approach to suit my level. He helped me become more confident with these whilst also progressing me with my intended goals to complete B1. My comprehension of french has grown significantly whilst my french speaking has improved noticeably from where I began (which I am told by my french partner and family, so it must be true!).
Victor as a teacher is full of praise and patience and has many techniques which he uses to help the learner and this is important as everyone learns differently.
What I like most about my classes with Victor is his adaptability, he may have a lesson plan in mind, but if the french conversation goes somewhere else (often with me) he just goes with it, because we are still speaking french! Which is the aim!
I cannot recommend him highly enough as a teacher, he is professional in his approach but keeps the lessons and the language accessible and I am never left to feel like i have done something wrong.
